Are you fond of clicking the X button without signing out first in your online accounts? We love to do the easy way, hit the X button but little we know there are tons of eyes observing what we are doing online and one wrong move they can definitely assume our identity online – and one of this is our failure to terminate our session cookies.
Almost every internet user is now using Google Chrome, Apple Safari or MS Edge. They are racing to become the badass browser for your phone or pc and certainly they are but they fail to give importance to your privacy. Do you know that the Google Chrome, there is no available plugin that will help you to auto clean your history including your cookies everytime you’ll close the window; and the tendency is that when you open the app again and open your social accounts, right away it will show your account is just been sitting there and “presume idle” but this is indeed an open backdoor for any intruders. Since the session cookies are still active, any worm can get into your access codes and transmit the data somewhere else and these are the following events that can occur:
1. They can force your account to use an app (api) to manage your account. In this event, you will just be surprise to know that you have been posting posts that you don’t like at all – porn, clickbaits, ad to install mobile apps.
2. They can manage your account to do online transactions, though the banking sites always have limited session available per user and mostly paypal and another online funds platforms are the target of these type of intrusions.
3. Will you permit these guys to just send messages to your friends and families, telling them to click links that most of the time porn links? Well, if your session cookie is still active they can just manipulate everything and even assume your identity online.
The next time before you hit the X button, make sure you have every account signed out, clear your history and don’t leave any trace of your activities online or else they will assume your identity.
